FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE LESSONS PROVIDED FOR THE PERIOD OF PARTIAL SCHOOL CLOSURE
Should my child have a pen and paper for the lessons and quizzes?
Always encourage your child to show his/her thinking, working out etc on paper. It does not need to be squared paper – unless they are drawing a graph or something that requires this.
How long will these lessons remain online?
The lessons currently have an expiry date of 31 December 2020.
What is the curriculum plan for the summer term?
Are the lessons intended to take one hour?
If you spread one set of slides over two or more days then this is absolutely fine. This often happens in school with some lessons. Each set of slides focuses on the intended learning, not a time period.
Should we skip lessons if we are behind?
Not really… It’s better to work through the lessons in the order that they are on the website. It doesn’t matter if you are not using the lessons intended for the current week.
Is it okay to use lessons from the year groups below my child’s year group?
Yes. Absolutely. Good teachers will always be revisiting previous learning so children can build new learning.
