ONLINE LEARNING

Summer Term (first half)

During the period of partial school closure, Effective Maths is providing resources to support children and parents/carers with learning at home.

In the weeks leading up to the Easter holidays, we identified some quizzes from our maths quiz site (mathsquiz.net) that children could usefully revisit. These are at the bottom of this page.

For the summer term we are providing two lessons per week and quizzes that revisit learning from earlier in the year.

Lessons to use at home during the summer term [first half]

Whilst schools continue to be closed we are providing lessons for parents to use at home.

These will be uploaded here on a weekly basis.

Lessons to use during the week beginning 11 May.

Lessons to use during the week beginning 18 May.

Please remember that the quizzes are just that – quizzes. If your child gets a question wrong, they are told that the answer is incorrect. This allows immediate opportunities for intervention – for you to support your child and address any difficulties they may have. There is then one more opportunity to try. Then the quiz will move on to the next question. At the end of the quiz you can review all the questions – and then try again. (If your child scores 100% first time, you might want to look at the time he or she took to complete the quiz. You can get this information from the ‘detailed report’ at the end of the quiz. Can he/she improve on this time?)

NB The quizzes are not designed to work on mobile phones.
