Lessons using pattern blocks are being introduced across the main EM programme and also the EM Securing Fluency Programme.
Effective Maths - Securing Fluency Programme
There is a new unit on the fluency website, Stage 2 (Unit 5).
This unit focuses on three areas.
[1] Securing the ability to read times on analogue clock faces
[2] Developing a deep understanding of 2D shape
[3] Creating and continuing arithmetic number sequences
Effective Maths – main programme
From September 2026 we will be introducing lessons using pattern blocks within the main programme. These lessons will feature in topics such as geometry, fractions and early algebraic thinking.
